Lawsuits against governmental entities and employees that are covered by an IRF insurance policy are assigned for defense to associate counsel (private law firms approved to handle governmental defense matters). IRF pays Associate Counsel following the rates:

Any law firm interested in applying for the Associate Counsel list should contact the SFAA Office of General Counsel to request an application.  Please note that additions to the associate counsel list are made on an as needed basis only.
